SCHOOL CONCERTS

Encounter’s in-house activities are at the heart of all the MPO’s education programmes orbiting around Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS. These programmes are very much hands on and interactive for the serious minded among us who like serious fun!

These concerts are designed for students and their teachers to get to know more about classical music. Have fun while learning about music in these specially created concerts. Our Schools’ Concerts are offered in two sessions on the same day, you can choose either Session 1 (10.00am) or Session 2 (12.30pm).

Did you know that the MPO is home to musicians from more than 29 different countries? With music as a common language, the orchestra uses its diversity to produce a plethora of breathtaking sounds. Gerard Salonga takes us on an exotic voyage – world music with a classical flair! Featuring works by Bernstein, Smetana and de Falla.

There will always be noisy neighbours, but what happens when Beethoven Lives Upstairs? In Vienna, a young Christoph encounters the torment of Beethoven’s deafness and the beauty of his most memorable work. This fun-filled production celebrates Beethoven’s life and music, featuring Moonlight Sonata, Für Elise and the dramatic 5th Symphony performed by the MPO.

Admission Fee:
RM5 per student. RM10 per teacher. One teacher is admitted FREE with every 20 students.

Duration:
All concerts last approximately one hour without interval.

Bookings:
Schools’ representatives are encouraged to book early as seats are limited. Full payment is required upon booking confirmation. A minimum booking of 10 students applies.

Dress Code: 
School Uniform or Smart Casual – Strictly NO shorts, collarless T-shirts and slippers at any time.

Age Limit: 
For Schools’ Concerts, children aged 4 and above will be admitted with paid admission.
